I promised to post the results after a completed a functional test, all I can say is WOW!
This is what I had hoped for when I took a gamble on Kickstarter with what became the Waylens Horizon, a GoPro with real time telemetry.
As mentioned previously I mounted my Horizon using the new Universal Mount Adapter "upside down"(Waylens logo is upside down) and used the 180 flip video option. Worked great!! IMHO every Horizon owner should use this adapter. No more chattering or shaking in the video.
I also used a standard GoPro suction cup mount (about $40 retail, have seen them for $30 on sale) and the shortest arm (about 1.5" or 38 mm long) and just two "joints". For my car this gives a camera position that is very close (2 inches?) to the glass which is critical for reducing reflections and minimizing the amount of dashboard in the image. I love the roll sensor, great way to know that the camera is level before you leave the garage and something my GoPro does not have.
At first I did not know what to do with the GPS sensor as there was no steel surface on my dash to stick its magnet to, but then I realized I had a magnetic mount for my phone I could use temporarily, which seemed to work perfectly..
Great job, Waylens!!
